Dates you need to know

Staying on top of deadlines is one of the most important things you can do to protect your financial aid, avoid unexpected charges, and keep your enrollment on track. This page covers key dates for financial aid, scholarships, and billing and payment. These are not the same as registration deadlines.

Scholarship Deadlines

CCC Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships reduce what you owe without adding to your debt. If you are eligible, applying is one of the most practical things you can do before your term begins.

The CCC Foundation Scholarship application typically opens December 1 and closes March 7. Apply early as funding is limited.

Tribal and Native American Scholarships

Tribal scholarships are a significant source of funding for many CCC students. If you are an enrolled tribal member, reach out to your tribal education department before the term begins to ask about available awards and deadlines.

Deadlines vary by tribe and organization. Visit the link below for a current list of tribal scholarship opportunities and deadlines.

External Scholarships

External scholarships are offered by organizations outside of CCC, including businesses, foundations, professional associations, and community groups. Deadlines and eligibility requirements vary widely, and many open in the fall with spring deadlines. Visit our Scholarships page for a current list of resources and links.

CCC does not administer external scholarships. Deadlines, eligibility requirements, and award amounts are determined by each individual organization.

How to stay informed

The best ways to stay informed on paying for classes, deadlines, and updates are through the myCCC student portal and your student email. If you have questions about logging in, please contact IT.

What do these dates and terms mean?
FAFSA Priority Date: The date by which CCC recommends you submit your FAFSA to allow enough time for processing before the term begins. Submitting after this date does not disqualify you from aid, but it may delay your disbursement.

Verification Document Submission Date: If your FAFSA is selected for verification, this is the recommended date by which to submit all required documents so your aid can be processed before the term starts.

Disbursement Date: The date financial aid funds are released to your student account. If you have a credit balance after tuition and fees are paid, remaining funds will be issued to you directly.

SAP Appeal Deadline: If you have lost financial aid eligibility due to Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, this is the date by which you must submit an appeal to be considered for reinstatement before the term begins.

Payment Due Date: The date by which you must pay your tuition balance or have confirmed financial aid in place to avoid being dropped from your classes.

Refund Deadline: The last date by which you can drop a course and receive a full tuition refund. After this date, you may still withdraw but will not receive a refund.

Return of Title IV (R2T4): If you withdraw from all courses after receiving federal financial aid, federal law requires that a portion of your aid be returned. The amount is calculated based on your withdrawal date.
What happens if I miss the payment deadline?
Students whose tuition balance is not paid and who do not have confirmed financial aid in place by the payment deadline may be dropped from their classes. Contact Student Accounts before the deadline if you need help exploring your options.
What if I need to withdraw? Will I get a refund?
Refunds are only available if you drop before the refund deadline. After that date, you can still withdraw but will not receive a tuition refund. If you received federal financial aid and withdraw from all courses, a portion of your aid may be required to be returned under federal Return of Title IV rules. Talk to both the Financial Aid office and an advisor before withdrawing.
Are financial aid deadline the same as registration deadlines?
No. These are separate sets of deadlines managed by different offices. Missing a financial aid deadline affects your aid, and missing a registration deadline affects your enrollment. Check both.
What happens if I miss the FAFSA priority date?
You can still submit your FAFSA after the priority date, but your aid may not be processed before tuition is due. If your aid is not in place by the payment deadline, you could be dropped from your classes. Submit as early as possible and contact the Financial Aid office if you have concerns about timing.
Where can I find my personal deadlines?
Log in to your MyCCC portal for your personalized aid status, disbursement information, and account deadlines. If you have questions, contact the Financial Aid office or Student Accounts directly.
