Tuition and Fees

Cost of Attendance

Knowing what college will cost before you commit makes planning a lot easier. This page lays out tuition and fee rates at CCC so you know exactly what to expect.

Tuition covers the cost of your classes. Fees are additional charges that vary by program and cover things like technology and student services. Together, they make up your total cost for the semester.

Tuition

At CCC, tuition is based on how many credit hours you take. A credit hour is one hour of class time per week for a full semester, plus the time you spend on homework and projects outside of class. Most classes are three or four credit hours.

Your residency status also affects your rate. Students who live in Coconino County pay the lowest rate. Arizona residents outside the county pay a slightly higher rate. Out-of-state students pay a higher rate still.

Why Do Some Classes Cost More?

Some courses cost a little more per credit hour than others. This is called a specialty course rate, and it applies to programs that require special equipment, materials, labs, or hands-on training facilities. The extra cost helps cover what it takes to run those classes safely and effectively.

The specialty rate is added on top of your standard tuition rate and ranges from $5.00 to $722.00 extra per credit hour depending on the program.

Fees

In addition to tuition, there are a few fees that may apply to your account. Here is a breakdown of what to expect.

Mandatory Fees

These fees apply to all students every semester. The technology fee of $7.00 per credit hour is already included in your tuition, so you will not see it as a separate charge. The student activity fee of $3.00 per credit hour is not included in your tuition and will appear as a separate line item on your bill.

A Note on WUE

WUE stands for Western Undergraduate Exchange. It is not a fee. It is a reduced tuition rate available to students from participating western states who do not qualify for Arizona resident tuition. If you are from a WUE-eligible state, your per credit hour rate is lower than the standard non-resident rate.
