Community Education Course Proposals

Do you have a skill, area of expertise, or topic you're passionate about sharing? Coconino Community College welcomes proposals for Community Education courses that help people learn, explore interests, develop practical skills, and connect with others. If you have an idea for a class that would benefit our community, we'd love to hear from you.

Community Education courses are designed for personal enrichment and lifelong learning. Past topics have included history, science, culture, nature, outdoors, arts, crafts, technology, language, DIY projects, and more.

Our team reviews each proposal to determine whether it is a good fit for Community Education programming. We will contact you within three weeks to let you know the status of your proposal. Please contact us if you would like to explore an idea before submitting a proposal.

What is Community Education?

Successful courses are:

  • Relevant to community interests and needs
  • Engaging and hands-on
  • Appropriate for adult learners
  • Offered in a format that is accessible and affordable
  • Led by individuals with demonstrated knowledge or experience in the subject area

You do not need to be a college faculty member to teach a Community Education course. We welcome proposals from community experts, professionals, hobbyists, retirees, entrepreneurs, and CCC employees.

What happens after I submit?

Our team reviews each proposal to determine whether it is a good fit for Community Education programming.

If your proposal is selected, we will work with you to:

  • Refine course details and learning outcomes
  • Determine scheduling and delivery format
  • Establish instructor compensation, if applicable
  • Set registration requirements and course fees
  • Prepare your course for promotion and enrollment

Submission of a proposal does not guarantee that a course will be scheduled.

How to register

CCC faculty and staff are encouraged to share their expertise through Community Education courses, particularly when those courses introduce community members to areas of interest that may connect with college programs and services.

Courses must be offered outside regular work responsibilities and may require supervisor approval depending on employment status. Additional college policies and procedures apply.
