Financial Aid

CCC offers federal, state, and private financial aid to help students who need financial assistance. Students are encouraged to apply for aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

CCC also considers these areas:

• Basic Student Eligibility: You must meet federal and CCC financial aid listed below.
• Special or Unusual Circumstances: Your aid is based on the financial information on your FAFSA. If your FAFSA no longer reflects your current financial situation, contact the Financial Aid Office. Staff may be able to review your new situation and adjust your aid.
• Student Verification Some students must give CCC more documents after they submit the FAFSA. These confirm who they are and their financial situation. This is called verification. If you are selected, the Financial Aid Office will tell you what to send and how to send it.
• Financial Aid Eligible Programs & Courses Federal aid can only pay for classes that count toward your declared degree or certificate.

To qualify for financial aid at CCC, you must:

• Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using CCC’s school code 031004
• Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen with a valid Social Security number.
• Be admitted and currently working toward an eligible CCC degree or certificate.
• Meet one of these education requirements:
  • Have a high school diploma or a state-recognized equivalent such as a General Educational Development (GED)
  • Completed a high school education in a homeschool setting approved under state law
  • Admitted into an eligible career pathway program and meet one of the ability-to-benefit alternatives
• Have not reached your lifetime limit for the Pell Grant.
• Take the minimum number of credits required for the type of aid you receive.
• Give CCC any documents it asks for.
• Meet CCC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy
• Not receive federal student aid from another school during the same payment period.
• Show financial need for need-based federal student aid programs.
• Go to and participate in your classes.

Attendance Matters

Registering for a class is not enough to receive financial aid. For in-person classes, you must go to your classes. For online classes, you must complete at least one academically related activity.

If you are marked as a no-show or not present during the first or second week, CCC may delay your aid. Your aid can be released after your instructor confirms that you started the class.
