College is more than what happens in the classroom. At CCC, getting involved is how you find your people, build skills, and make your time here mean something, whether you are here full-time, part-time, or fitting classes around work and family.
Students who participate in clubs, organizations, and campus activities are more likely to stay enrolled, earn higher grades, and complete their programs. Involvement also builds the skills that follow you into your career: leadership, teamwork, and communication. Even occasional involvement makes a difference. Many Student Life events and activities are designed to fit a busy schedule.
CCC clubs fall into a few categories, so there is likely something that fits where you are right now. Identity-based clubs like the Indigenous Student Association and Spectrum Club create community around shared experiences. Interest-based clubs like the Outdoor Comets Club and Creative Comets Club connect students around hobbies and passions. And if academic achievement is your goal, Phi Theta Kappa, CCC’s honor society, recognizes students who go above and beyond. And if nothing fits, students can start their own club with the support of Student Life.

Each year, Student Life puts together a lineup of events designed to bring the Comet community together. Look for these each semester:
Recurring Programs
Throughout the year, Student Life hosts cultural celebrations, social programs, wellness activities, and skill-building workshops. Programming is designed to reflect the diversity of our campus community and to meet students where they are.
Associated Student Body
The Associated Student Body (ASB) is CCC’s student government. As a student, you have a voice in how the college operates, and the ASB is how that voice shows up in governance. ASB members meet regularly, plan campus programming, and send a student representative to the College Council, CCC’s primary shared governance body.

Leadership Development
CCC offers leadership workshops, conference opportunities, and peer leadership roles that help you build the skills you will use long after you leave campus. Current peer leadership opportunities include:
CCC fields Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams competing at the NJCAA Division II level, with Track and Field coming soon. Student-athletes receive coaching, meaningful competition experience, and the full support of the Comet community.
