Faculty senate & Staff Council

Have an idea or concern about academics at CCC? Faculty Senate accepts agenda item requests from students and employees. If you have noticed a pattern or gap, like a course policy that is not working, a program need, or a teaching practice worth discussing, this is a formal way to raise it for college-wide consideration.

Agenda item requests must be submitted at least two weeks before a scheduled Senate meeting.

Staff Council represents the CCC employees who support you every day — in advising, enrollment, campus services, and beyond. The council works to strengthen communication across the college and advocates for the staff who make CCC run.

When processes that affect students need improving, Staff Council is one of the groups helping to drive that change.

Questions or feedback for Staff Council?

At CCC, decisions about academics and campus life are not made in isolation. Shared governance means that faculty and staff have a seat at the table alongside college leadership and that the people who work most closely with students help shape policies and priorities. 

For you, that means: 

• Academic programs reflect input from the instructors who teach them
• Campus services are informed by the staff who deliver them
• Changes to college policy go through a process that includes multiple perspectives
• The college stays accountable to the people it serves

Together, Faculty Senate and Staff Council help CCC stay connected, transparent, and mission‑driven. Their work strengthens the college’s partnerships, supports employees, and contributes to a positive environment for everyone who learns and works here.
