Accounting (AAS)— Workforce Degree
A two-year workforce degree designed to prepare you for employment in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial record-keeping. Built around the specific knowledge and skills employers in this field require. Designed for students entering the workforce directly, not for transfer.
Business (AAS) — Workforce Degree
A two-year workforce degree covering the broader knowledge and skills needed for business roles, including accounting, management, communications, and business operations. Also designed for direct employment after graduation.
Accounting Certificate
Designed to prepare you for entry-level bookkeeping and accounting positions. Credits earned in the certificate can be applied toward the Accounting AAS.

Coursework covers the core principles of accounting, financial management, and economics, giving you practical skills that apply whether you are entering the workforce or continuing your education.
Students planning to transfer to a four-year university should pursue the Associate of Business (ABUS), which includes the AGEC-B. Completing the AGEC-B with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher guarantees admission to any Arizona public university, though it does not guarantee admission to a specific program within that university.
CCC has transfer partnerships with NAU, ASU, the University of Arizona, and Grand Canyon University. Several accounting and economics courses transfer directly to Arizona universities with course equivalency.
If you are not yet ready to complete a full degree, the AGEC-B certificate is a standalone credential that satisfies lower-division general education requirements for business majors at Arizona’s public universities.
The Accounting Certificate is a shorter credential focused specifically on accounting, designed for students seeking entry-level bookkeeping and accounting positions. The AAS in Business is a two-year degree that includes accounting alongside broader business coursework. Credits from the Accounting Certificate can be applied toward the AAS.
